You know the Cayenne is a Porsche because you’ve seen it on the road as such for a few years now. But if it didn’t carry those badges, would you know what brand it was? It’s a nicely styled vehicle, and the updates for this year are worthwhile, particularly the new headlight treatment. Yet there is very little here that says “Porsche” to us, despite attempts to mimic Porsche cues like the curved side glass. Inside Porsche relies on a left-mounted ignition switch and some Porsche-look gauges and audio system controls to unsuccessfully draw a styling connection to its sports cars.
